Two Mobility Futures 0∞ is an art installation about the future of mobility, integrating a larger research line that investigates future cities through immersive experiences. It was on display at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao as part of the exhibit Motion: Autos, Art, Architecture, curated by Norman Foster.

We are now glimpsing two divergent mobility futures. The COVID-19 pandemic instantly halted most human travel while products, food, information, and experiences were delivered to each household. At the same time, fantastic new land, air, and space mobility modes may enable humans to move frictionlessly to wherever they desire. We explore extreme versions of these two opposing trends and their impacts on relationships, possessions, and urban environments.

At the center of the installation, thousands of pieces of dismantled car engines compose our miniature post-car city. Surrounding it, nine 85” floating screens show glimpses of life inside that city. Above them, an LED chandelier lights on and off accompanying the videos, expanding the stories beyond the screens.
